FIELD: water treatment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment and decontamination of sea water by combined methods, namely to modular devices for decontamination of ship ballast water. Modular apparatus for decontaminating ballast water consists of a mechanical treatment unit containing at least one filter 2, an ultraviolet irradiation unit containing at least one UV reactor 3, pipelines with shutoff valves. Series-connected hydraulically and electrically insulated metal housings of the filter and the UV reactor are connected to different poles of the controlled current source 6 and are used as electrodes of a flow electrolyser for obtaining an additional disinfecting agent in the form of sodium hypochlorite. Sea ballast water is used as electrolyte.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of disinfection while maintaining weight and size characteristics.
