FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to phthisiology. Disclosed is a method for detecting the S-genotype of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. According to the method, the presence of a nucleotide substitution in the Rν0557 gene is detected in position 457C>G by PCR using oligonucleotide primers 557Fw GTTTCGCGTCCAGCTACGGC and 557Rv ACCGGTGTACTCGCGGAATGC with subsequent treatment of PCR product with restriction endonuclease FnuDII and electrophoresis of restriction products in agarose gel. In case of mutation Rv0557 in position 457C>G, specific for S-genotype of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, presence of marker band consisting of fragments with length of 64 bp and 67 bp is observed, and in the presence of a restriction fragment with length of 131 bp, the strain belongs to any other genotype of M. tuberculosis.

EFFECT: method enables laboratory diagnostics of strains of tuberculosis agent related to S-genotype of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
