METHOD FOR SUBMAMMARY FOLD FORMATION IN BREAST RECONSTRUCTION BY DIEAP-FLAP AFTER RADICAL MASTECTOMY Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/00

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plastic, aesthetic, reconstructive surgery and oncology. Marking is performed according to contours of submammary fold of opposite mammary gland, symmetric transfer of marking according to contours of the supposed submammary fold, excision of cicatrical tissue after mastectomy, dissection of subcutaneous fat, isolation and transplantation of DIEAP-flap. After dissection of subcutaneous fat, dissection is performed along surface of greater pectoral muscle to contours of supposed submammary fold. Entire thickness of the subcutaneous fat is dissected along the contours and in the projection of the putative submammary fold. Superficial fascia of the breast is fixed with interrupted sutures to the pectoral fascia and the superficial fascia of the abdomen along the contours of the putative submammary fold and, after extraction and transplantation of the DIEAP-flap, the operation is completed by drainage and fixation of the DIEAP-flap with interrupted sutures.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the risk of postoperative ptosis and gravitational displacement of the graft.
