FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to endocrinology and cardiology, and can be used to predict the risk of developing multivessel coronary artery disease in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Whole blood is examined for polymorphisms of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene: FokI, BsmI, TagI. If there is a combination of the genotype TT of the polymorphic marker TagI with the genotype ff of the polymorphic marker FokI, or the combination of the genotype TT or Tt of the polymorphic marker TagI with the genotype FF or Ff of the polymorphic marker Fokl and the genotype BB or Bb of the polymorphic marker BsmI, the risk of developing multivessel coronary artery disease in type 2 diabetes mellitus is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides more effective prediction of developing multivessel coronary artery disease in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus by determining polymorphisms FokI, BsmI, TagI of the VDR gene in blood.
