FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to detect primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Lachrymal fluid sample is taken with the help of a Schirmer test strip, lachrymal fluid is extracted from the Schirmer strip, followed by determination of thermal denaturation profiles of proteins in the lachrymal fluid by differential scanning fluorimetry (DSF). Conclusion on the presence of POAG is made based on the results of comparing the obtained DSF profiles of thermal denaturation of lachrymal fluid proteins with DSF profiles obtained from healthy individuals and individuals with POAG. If observing differences from DSF-profiles of healthy individuals, POAG is detected.
EFFECT: method enables the rapid diagnosis of the presence of primary open-angle glaucoma by recording changes in the composition of the lachrymal fluid of the patients by comparing the DSF profiles obtained for the samples of the patients with suspected ophthalmic disease, with DSF-profiles of thermal denaturation of proteins of lachrymal fluid of healthy individuals and patients with confirmed ophthalmic disease.
