FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict the risk of developing Primary Open-angle Glaucoma (POAG) without exfoliation syndrome in Russian individuals born and living in the Central region of Russia. DNA is isolated from the peripheral venous blood. The CDKN2B-AS1 gene is analyzed. If haplotype АААGG of haploblock rs1063192 - rs7865618 - rs2157719 - rs944800 - rs4977756 of the CDKN2B-AS1 gene is detected, a high risk of developing POAG without exfoliation syndrome is predicted.
EFFECT: method allows to obtain new criteria for assessing the risk of developing POAG without exfoliation syndrome in unrelated Russian individuals born and living in the Central region of Russia, based on data on haplotype AAAGG of the haploblock rs1063192 - rs7865618 - rs2157719 - rs944800 - rs4977756 of the CDKN2B-AS1 gene.
