FIELD: pneumatic machines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pneumatic machines and is intended to reduce noise of compressed air emission into atmosphere. Pneumatic noise silencer comprises a front cover with an inlet union and a permeable sound-absorbing element, characterized by that it has a perforated housing, inside which a permeable sound-absorbing element is tightly installed, forming a compressed air flow passage with the inlet union and a rear cover, and fastening of front and rear covers and housing is made along external thread of housing. Sound-absorbing element of the pneumatic noise silencer is made of porous polypropylene. Diameter of the inlet hole in the front cover of the silencer is of the same diameter as the inner diameter of the permeable sound-absorbing element to exclude excess resistance to flow and reduce the carrying capacity. Total area of holes in the perforated housing of the silencer, which depends on the length of the housing, is experimentally selected so as to provide maximum acoustic efficiency at permissible back pressure, which indirectly characterizes the throughput of the silencer.
EFFECT: threaded connection between cover and perforated housing of silencer simplifies replacement of sound-absorbing element in silencer.
