SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly to production of liquid steel by means of refining equipment. Device for evaluating the state of the furnace comprises: an input unit configured to receive the recorded information and conditions of the refining treatment; model determination unit configured to determine model parameters using past model parameters; unit for calculating the state of the furnace, configured to calculate the state parameters, including the temperature and concentration of liquid metal components and the concentration of slag components in the furnace, and a model parameters calculating unit configured to calculate model parameters during the target load refining processing based on the evaluation function, which includes components representing the error of mass balance and error of heat balance in the furnace from the beginning to the end of a specific period of time during the refining treatment, using the recorded information, which includes the results of the refining treatment of the target load. Production of liquid steel is carried out based on temperature and concentration of liquid metal components and concentration of slag components, assessed by the method of evaluating the state of the furnace, carried out by the device for evaluating the state of the furnace, and a refining operation is performed.

EFFECT: invention enables continuous evaluation of concentration of components in liquid metal and slag with high accuracy.
