FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for purifying dry powder of low-molecular weight poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone with average molecular weight (8,000–12,600) ± 2000 Da, to obtain a pharmaceutical substance for making preparations for injection and infusion use. Method of purifying dry powder of low-molecular weight poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone from impurities of N-vinylpyrrolidone, 2-pyrrolidone, hydrazine and peroxide compounds involves mixing the dry powder of poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone in a vacuum at temperature of 85–95 °C for 3–5 hours, mixing dry poly-N-vinylpyrrolidone in an inert gas atmosphere at temperature of 90–105 °C for 3–5 hours and subsequent cooling to 20–25 °C.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of purifying dry powders of low-molecular weight poly-n-vinylpyrrolidones to obtain pharmaceutical substances for preparing injectable and infusion preparations.
