SUBSTANCE: performing step-by-step adjustment of density and completeness of plantations of pine forest stands in each age period by means of thinning, allowing to achieve maximum carbon deposition, optimum structure of plantations is determined by the following formulas: for 20-year forest stands: Pr = 6.4453+2.5835×N-0.1711×N2, for 30-year forest stands: Pr = 3.3221+7.9655×N-1.1837×N2, for 40-year forest stands: Pr = -1.1071+19.4678×N-5.5605×N2, for 50-year forest stands: Pr = -1.741+24.2834×N-8.4655×N2, for 60-year forest stands: Pr = 0.7699+19.9568×N-7.3618×N2, where Pr is the increase in m3⋅year-1⋅ha-1, N – density, thous. pcs⋅ha-1.

EFFECT: increasing carbon-depositing capacity of forest stands and their functional efficiency.
