SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Method of determining relative refractive index of cornea using double-wave optical coherence tomography, where the corneal stroma thickness ratios are calculated, measured during its scanning at the same positional points on the corneal surface using optical coherent monochromatic radiation with light waves of the first and second length, wherein the ratio of the thickness of the corneal stroma measured when scanning it with an optical coherent radiation source with a wavelength smaller than the two wavelengths, to the value of the corneal stroma thickness, measured when scanning it with an optical coherent radiation source with a wavelength greater than the two wavelengths, is multiplied by the refractive index of the human corneal stroma, equal to 1.376, obtaining the value of the relative refractive index of the corneal stroma. Obtained value of the relative refractive index of the cornea is compared with the value of the refractive index of the corneal stroma.

EFFECT: use of this invention will make it possible to increase sensitivity and accuracy of measurements.
