FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and represents a method for occlusion registration by means of layer-by-layer 3D printing. Method involves making, with shrinkage less than 0.5% on 3D printer, an occlusal register with thickness of 2 mm, modelled on an image of the dentition of the upper jaw in such a way that the inner side of the register follows the occlusal surfaces of the upper jaw teeth, and the lower side is a smooth surface. Dental arches of the patient are scanned with an intraoral scanner and an occlusal register is modelled on the basis of the image of the upper dental arch. Register is printed on 3D printer, washed from resin residues in a bath using isopropyl alcohol and washed with water for 30 minutes, heated in a dry-heat oven for 30 minutes and then exposed to UV radiation for two minutes for final hardening. Register is fitted in the patient’s oral cavity, the patient’s dental arches are separated with cotton rolls, the register is placed on the upper teeth with his left hand. Patient’s lower jaw is moved in a rotational motion: opening mouth by 11–12 mm and closing it until it touches the recorder. At least three points are marked on the lower side of the register in the area of incisors and molars on both sides. Aluminium wax is applied on the lower surface of the register in the projection of the marked points; the register is placed on the upper teeth and the movements of the jaw are repeated, fixing the central relation of the patient's jaws. Imprinted register is used to place the patient’s jaw models in the articulator.
EFFECT: avoiding deformation of the register in the oral cavity when assembling the models in the articulator, storing and transporting, ensuring the correct adherence of the register to the dental arches and minimizing error when assembling the models into the articulator.
