FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to fire equipment, namely to a method of restraining a fire in a room and to an automatic fire restraint installation for implementing such a method. At that, method includes water supply to sprinklers of automatic installation after their activation in case of fire, at the same time automatic installation of fire containment is used, including water tank connected by pipeline with pump unit, sprinklers and their supply pipeline, as well as fire detectors, between the water tank and the pump unit there is a valve, and between the sprinklers and the pump unit there is a valve and a water supply intensity regulator, at that, the automatic fire containment installation comprises a control unit connected to the detectors, a control room, a pump installation and a water supply intensity regulator, pump unit is made with possibility of disconnection through control unit by means of starter or remotely from control room, at that, when water is supplied to sprinklers, water supply intensity is controlled by means of intensity regulator, supplying water with intensity ensuring limitation of size of fire area, levels of propagation of its hazardous factors and/or protection of building structures; water is supplied to sprinklers for a period of time before supply of fire nozzles to extinguish the fire.

EFFECT: use of the proposed inventions enables to ensure: a) safety of the protected room and equipment in it both from hazardous factors of fire, and from excessively spilled water, b) non-propagation of fire, c) water saving, which is important at its limited quantity.
