FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology, namely to a new strain of microalgae Desmodesmus subspicartus Dia 5, deposited in the Collection of Microalgae of IPP RAS under number IPPAS C-2072 – a producer of carotenoids, especially lutein and beta-carotene. Produced substances can be used in biologically active additives and food additives for humans, as well as in various fodder additives, primarily for aquaculture. New strain has the ability to accumulate a high level of both lutein and β-carotene, wherein the biomass of the strain has good organoleptic properties.
EFFECT: strain is undemanding to cultivation conditions, including does not require high concentration of NaCl in the cultivation medium.
