FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to a light guide for use when introducing a medical probe into a feeding body through a nasogastric probe and a system for confirming the position of this probe. Light guide has a main body part having a considerable length. Main body portion is configured to conduct light entering the proximal end from the light source device to emit resultant light from the distal end portion. Main body part in a natural state, in which there is no external force, comprises a linear part having a predetermined length from the distal end part, and a curved part inseparably connected to the linear part, wherein the curved part has a predetermined radius of curvature. Linear part has a length in range of 40 mm to 100 mm, and the curved part has a curvature radius in range of 105 mm to 200 mm. When inserted into the medical probe, the light guide deforms the shape of the medical probe in accordance with the shape of the light guide. Medical probe position confirmation system comprises a light source device; nasogastric feeding tube and the above light guide configured to conduct light from the light source device, wherein the light guide is configured to be inserted into the medical probe.

EFFECT: invention provides easier introduction of the medical probe into the patient's body.
