FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an integrated tube with an integrated optical fiber, to related medical devices and to a method of making said tube. Integrated tube for producing catheter tubes by cutting comprises a wall, one or more lumens, wherein each lumen of said one or more lumens is limited, at least partially, by the wall of the tube, zone, in which there is a change in diameter and each of which is within a predetermined section of the integrated tube, and a longitudinal bulge located between opposite sides of the wall of the tube, wherein the longitudinal bulge comprises one or more optical fibers therein. Peripherally inserted central catheter or central venous catheter comprises a catheter tube, a zone, in which there is a change in diameter and which is located between the distal end part of the catheter tube and the proximal end part of the catheter tube, and an integrated knife of one or more optical fibers. Catheter tube comprises a wall and one or more lumens. Each lumen of said one or more lumens is limited, at least partially, by the wall of the catheter tube. Catheter tube comprises a longitudinal bulge, which is located between opposite sides of the catheter tube and in which said one or more optical fibers are located. Method of making an integrated tube involves passing at least one optical fiber through an extruder head; pushing the molten polymer material through said head around the optical fiber to form an integrated tube with the optical fiber located inside the longitudinal bulge of the integrated tube; and cooling the integrated tube in the cooling bath by pulling the integrated tube through the cooling bath using the pulling device.
EFFECT: invention discloses a tube with an integrated optical fiber, medical devices and methods of making them.
