SUBSTANCE: end waveguide transition from rectangular metal to semi-shielded dielectric waveguide comprises a flange for coupling with another metal waveguide, a rectangular metal waveguide section, a coupling section, a semi-shielded dielectric waveguide section containing two parallel metal plates and a pointed dielectric rod located between them, longitudinal axis of symmetry of the whole device coincides with the longitudinal axis of symmetry of the dielectric rod and with longitudinal axes of symmetry of the section of the rectangular metal waveguide and the interface section. At that, the interface section is made of cavities in the form of two truncated cones with a common base at the boundary of the rectangular metal waveguide and the semi-shielded dielectric waveguide sections, which axes of longitudinal symmetry coincide, the diameter of the base of the cones is equal to the diagonal of the section of the rectangular metal waveguide, diameter of the top of the truncated cone directed towards the flange for coupling with another metal waveguide is equal to the size of the narrow wall of the rectangular metal waveguide.
