FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to friction stir welding and can be used in various industries for permanent connection of parts with longitudinal and closed circular seams of different shape and thickness from different metals and alloys, including dissimilar ones. Welded parts are placed along their connection line. Rotary welding tool is introduced into parts connection zone and moved along connection line with additional heating by induction current. Additional heating is performed prior to the beginning of welding and until reaching the state of plastic deformation of the material and is accompanied by continuous measurement of temperature of the welded parts during welding along the connection line. At that, upper limit of heating temperature shall not exceed temperature of plastic deformation of welded material.
EFFECT: improved quality of welded joints, reduced wear of welding tool, as well as reduced requirements for power of feed drive and rigidity of fixing parts in welding equipment.
