FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to testing of thermal imaging systems and a method for dynamic simulation of infrared radiation of ground objects. When implementing the method, a bank of ground objects with thermal portraits is formed. Required ground object is selected from the bank, a scale model of the selected real ground object is performed in accordance with the distance of the final guidance section and the relative position of the scale model and an element of a thermal imaging guidance system, located on the bench equipment. Scale model is heated to create an infrared radiation stream (IRS) identical to the IRS stream of a real ground object. Movement of an element of a thermal imaging guidance system to a scale model is simulated at a given speed and heating of the scale model is controlled according to a given law of temperature change synchronously with the movement of the element of the thermal imaging guidance system, creating a change in the flow of the IRS taking into account the effect of the atmosphere on the guidance route.

EFFECT: simplified method of testing thermal imaging systems.
