FIELD: positioning means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of positioning and determination of speed of movable units at railway sorting stations. Device comprises light sources and video recorders installed at a certain angle to controlled section of railway tracks and arranged on both sides of controlled section of railway tracks, outputs of video recorders are connected to corresponding inputs of neural network classifier unit, to the control input of which the data input unit is connected, the outputs of the neural network classifier unit are connected to the inputs of the positioning unit forming the railway mobile units positioning signals on their outputs, outputs of positioning unit are connected to inputs of speed calculator, which generates on its outputs signals which carry information on speeds of key objects.

EFFECT: enabling increase in functional reliability with possibility of functioning in absence of image of road surface, free from movable units.
