SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a fully automatic coffee machine (100) and a method for preparing a coffee drink using such a coffee machine, comprising a coffee extraction unit (10) with brewing chamber (1) for receiving powdered coffee, upper piston (2), lower piston (3) configured to move inside said cooking chamber (1) between a lower position and an upper position. Lower piston (3) comprises piston rod (31), which comprises inner channel (311) passing from channel inlet (311a) on the surface of the side wall of the rod to channel outlet (311b) on the rod bottom wall surface, and channel inlet (311a) is made and located on the rod side wall surface so that said channel inlet (311a) overlaps cooking chamber bottom wall (11) only when the lower piston is in upper position.

EFFECT: possibility to discharge residual liquid in a fully automatic coffee machine, in particular, without contamination of the water supply line and without using a three-way valve.
