FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of high-purity elementary substances and can be used to produce tellurium with purity of 5N in industrial conditions. Method involves adding additives to elemental tellurium, such as sodium hydroxide solution and a weighed portion of aluminium metal powder. Obtained pulp is heated at atmospheric pressure to temperature of 80-100°C. After heating, a weighed portion of sodium sulphide is added to the pulp. Further, filtration is carried out to obtain a solution which is bubbled with purified air to form a precipitate. Precipitate obtained after bubbling is sintered at temperature of 450-470°C to obtain an ingot, which is segregated in an electric furnace in an argon atmosphere at temperature of 490-530°C to obtain tellurium. Obtained tellurium is subjected to vacuum distillation at temperature of 530-630°C in glass-carbon tooling with release of tellurium in condenser.
EFFECT: providing removal of impurities from tellurium after vacuum distillation to 99,99962-99,99974% at output of 80-90%.
