FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry and specifically to a method of producing a catalyst for medium-temperature steam conversion of carbon oxide and can be used in the process of synthesis of ammonia. According to the invention, the method consists in the activation of the iron-containing component, the subsequent addition of copper dichromate, thermal treatment and moulding, wherein the iron-containing component used is hematite, which is activated with oxalic acid at a weight ratio of hematite : oxalic acid of 1:(1.1-1.2) for 30 minutes, heat treatment is carried out in a current of inert gas at a volume rate of 100 h-1 in a drum furnace with a moving layer of material for 2 hours and moulded by pelletizing.
EFFECT: development of a method of producing a catalyst for medium-temperature steam conversion of carbon monoxide, simplification of the apparatus scheme and reduced duration of the process, high strength of the catalyst while maintaining activity.
