FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry, and is intended for use in diagnosing anomalies of dentoalveolar system. For patients aged 7-25 years, presence of dentoalveolar anomalies is determined on the basis of observation of changes of angles of inclination of third molars in dynamics, determining angles of inclination every 3-5 years on orthopantomograms of patient's jaws. Orthopantomogram shows the position of the third molars and their inclination angles by the value of internal angles formed between the perpendicular to the line connecting the tops of the third molars, and the infraorbital line – for the teeth of the upper jaw, the plane of the base of the lower jaw – for the teeth of the lower jaw. Found inclination angles of the third molars are checked for compliance with the criteria characterizing the pathology of the dentoalveolar system (table 1-5 of the description), and a conclusion is made on the presence of a distal occlusion, a mesial occlusion, a cross occlusion, a crowded position of the anterior teeth or a narrowing of the dentition in the patient.
EFFECT: due to retrospective examination of orthopantomograms, method enables diagnosing dentoalveolar system anomalies.
