SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry, specifically to the use of individual compounds of class of 3-hydroxy-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrol-2-ones as agents having antimicrobial activity, which can also be used as starting products for synthesis of novel heterocyclic systems and in pharmacology.
EFFECT: disclosed is use of 2-((3-(4-methylbenzoyl)-4-hydroxy-1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-5-oxo-2,5-dihydro-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)thio)acetic acid as an agent having antibacterial activity on Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and antifungal activity on Candida albicans.
