FIELD: pharmaceutics.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to pharmaceutics, namely to a method for pharmacological prevention of radiation-induced cystitis and bladder fibrosis. A method for pharmacological prevention of radiation-induced cystitis and bladder fibrosis involves preventive introduction of 1-isobutanoyl-2-isopropylisothiourea 30 minutes before irradiation in doses for mice and rats intragastrically 150-225 mg/kg.
EFFECT: invention enables providing clinically and morphologically evident prevention of early and late radiation cystitis and fibrosis of the bladder using a safe method with low risk of negative effects.
