FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to non-contact magnetometric diagnostics in the field of external monitoring of technical parameters of an underground pipeline in operation, completed by overhaul, reconstruction or construction, and can be used when inspecting the technical state of an underground pipeline in the oil and gas industry, housing and communal services and other industries where underground and underwater pipelines are operated. Essence of the invention is to achieve reliability of control of technical parameters of an underground pipeline during its integrated survey due to the fact that operation of the generator and the diagnostic device are synchronized using GPS located in their composition. Value of the phase angle of the test current from the generator is measured along the distance of the pipeline, and the change in the phase angle is used to determine technical parameters of the underground pipeline during its complex inspection.
EFFECT: use of the proposed method enables to detect: complex types of damages in the external insulating coating of the pipeline, which include underfilm corrosion and rejects of heat-shrinking collars; violation of tightness of protective external structures of the pipeline when an aggressive corrosive medium enters them, as well as ingress of an aggressive corrosive medium into the internal cavity of the pipeline.
