FIELD: construction; physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of buildings operation and can be used for detection of damages in the roof from soft insulation materials. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that a current-conducting circuit from a non-insulated multicore copper wire, a signal receiver with two probes and a pulse signal source are used, wherein the contour is laid along the perimeter of the investigated roof surface, the surface inside the contour is moistened with water, a source of pulsed signals is connected to the contour, and to determine the location of the damage in the roof, the wetted surface of the roof is probed with two probes and the signals are fixed by a signal receiver, wherein in addition, before using a current-conducting circuit from non-insulated multicore copper wire, using a moisture meter, the surfaces of the ceilings of the rooms of the upper floor of the building are examined for the presence of places of high humidity and a current-conducting circuit is laid out of a non-insulated multicore copper wire only on those sections of the roof, under which in the rooms of the upper floor of the building there are places of high humidity on the surface of the ceilings.

EFFECT: reduced time for detection and elimination of damages of insulating material of roof.
