FIELD: aerosol-generating systems.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrically controlled aerosol generating systems. Provided is an electrically controlled aerosol-generating system comprising an aerosol-generating device, a charging unit configured to accommodate the aerosol-generating device, and a first connector portion and a second connector portion. Aerosol-generating device can have one of the first connector part and the second connector part, and the charging unit has the other one of the first connector part and the second connector part. First part of the connector may contain: first electrical contact; a second electrical contact substantially surrounding the first electrical contact; and a third electrical contact substantially surrounding the second electrical contact. Second part of the connector comprises a surface and a protrusion located practically in the centre on the surface, first electrical contact located on the protrusion, second electrical contact located on the surface, spaced radially outward from the first electrical contact, and a third electrical contact located on the surface, spaced radially outward from the second electrical contact. First and second parts of the connector can be arranged so that when the aerosol-generating device is placed in the charging unit, the first and second parts of the connector are electrically coupled.

EFFECT: high speed and reliability of the electrical connection, the aerosol-generating device and the charging unit at any angular position.
