SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an electric aerosol-generating system and to an apparatus for such a system. The electric aerosol-generating system is comprised of a charging apparatus containing a primary power source and an aerosol-generating apparatus containing a secondary power source. The aerosol-generating apparatus constitutes an elongated aerosol-generating apparatus with a near end, a far end, and a main part extending between the near end and the far end. The charging apparatus has a coupling structure configured to connect with the aerosol-generating apparatus for charging the secondary power source using the primary power source. The first connecting element located on the main part of the aerosol-generating apparatus is configured to interact with the second connecting element located on the wall of the charging apparatus. Interaction between the aerosol-generating apparatus and the coupling structure is implemented as a result of relative movement of the aerosol-generating apparatus and the coupling structure in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the aerosol-generating apparatus.

EFFECT: possibility of quick and easy placement of the insert of the aerosol-generating apparatus into a compatible charging apparatus and removal of the aerosol-generating apparatus from the charging apparatus in low lighting or if the user is moving is provided.
