FIELD: electrical elements.

SUBSTANCE: area of application: in aerosol-generating electrical systems. The aerosol-generating system (100) comprises an aerosol-generating apparatus (101) for generating an aerosol from an aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol-generating apparatus (101) comprises a rechargeable power supply, a charging unit (103), and an electrical connector. The electrical connector connecting the aerosol-generating apparatus (101) and the charging unit comprises a first part (40) and a second part (50) of the connector, electrically interconnectable. Each of the first part (40) and the second part (50) of the connector comprises a set of electrical contacts and a first and a second magnetic elements, respectively. At least one of the set of electrical contacts of the second part (50) of the connector is an elastic contact switchable between the extended and compressed positions. When the first and second parts (40, 50) of the connector are connected, at least one elastic contact of the second part (50) of the connector is in the extended position for contact with the first part (40) of the connector. The force of magnetic attraction between the first and second magnetic elements is greater than the force required to move at least one elastic contact from the extended position to the compressed position.

EFFECT: increase in the security of the electrical connection between the aerosol-generating apparatus and the charging unit.
