FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy. Method removal of nitrogen from molten steel, in which slag containing CaO and Al2O3, formed by a combination of an Al addition step, at which a metal substance containing Al is added to the molten steel for deoxidation and conversion of the molten steel to the Al-containing molten steel, and a step of adding CaO, at which a CaO-containing substance is added to the molten steel, and then over the slag and through the slag, oxygen or oxygen diluted with an inert gas other than a gas N2, for execution processing for nitrogen removal, at that, at the Al addition step, the Al concentration is controlled, wherein in process nitrogen removal controlling pressure of gas medium in furnace, wherein slag composition is controlled by weight ratio of C/A CaO to Al2O3, wherein concentration of MgO. During the nitrogen removal process, the molten steel temperature is controlled taking into account the MgO concentration, and iron concentration T.Fe in slag after treatment for nitrogen removal is set to 3.0 wt.% or lower.
EFFECT: stable achievement of nitrogen concentrations in an extremely low range for a short time.
