FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and may be used for molten steel processing. In method between molten steel and molten slag difference of potentials is supplied using DC source and two electrodes, wherein negative electrode stays in contact with fused steel while positive electrode stays in contact solely with fused slag. Method includes a deoxidation step for obtaining deoxidised molten steel, on which deoxidizer is added to molten steel, and a step of applying a potential difference to the obtained deoxidised steel after the deoxidation step. After the deoxidation step, when applying a potential difference, the ratio between the concentration of CaO (wt.%) and the concentration Al2O3 (wt.%) in molten slag is provided in range of 0.4–1.8 inclusively.
EFFECT: prevention of repeated oxidation of metal components in melted steel due to reaction with oxides in melted slag, and also inhibition of occurrence of inclusions and reduction of nitrogen content in melted steel.
