FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to traumatology and orthopaedics, neurology and neurophysiology, and can be used to determine functional activity of injured upper extremity muscles. It involves stimulation electroneuromyography with examination of motor fibres of nerves of both upper extremities with registration of motor response from muscles of upper extremity and assessment of its area. Functional activity of the examined muscle on the side of the injured brachial plexus relative to the contralateral muscle of the intact upper extremity is calculated by the formula in the patients with consequences of the unilateral intranatal brachial plexus injury.
EFFECT: method provides a quantitative assessment of the state of partially denervated muscles in patients with a one-sided intranatal brachial plexus injury, which makes it possible to improve diagnosis of functional activity of muscles and optimize individual program of rehabilitation measures.
