FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine and medical equipment, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics, vertebrology. Skin is transversely incised in a projection of an operated intervertebral disc. Soft tissue retractor is placed. X-ray unit with an electronic image converter is used to localize the required intervertebral disk. Further, an anterior longitudinal ligament, a fibrous ring are incised, and osteophytes are resected. Microsurgical instruments are used for microdiscotomy, preparation of vertebral arch lamina of adjacent vertebral bodies. Further, a tool for installing the cage is inserted into the blind hole of the cage frame on the side surface. Method includes installing a biocompatible biodegradable cervical cage consisting of a frame, including a frame belt with a central through hole, in which there is a porous scaffold, and a blind hole on the side surface of the frame for fixing the cage installation tool therein. Blind hole diameter depends on the cage frame length according to original formula. Wound is closed in layers. Method is implemented by means of a device that is a biocompatible biodegradable cervical cage.

EFFECT: group of inventions allows implantation of a biocompatible biodegradable cervical cage in place of the destroyed intervertebral disc for the fusion of adjacent vertebrae, providing reliable fixation of the vertebrae, accelerated spondylodesis, preservation of cervical lordosis, fast fusion of bone tissue, fast restoration of spinal functioning.
