METHOD FOR RESTORE BALANCE IN THE CERVICAL SPINE IN THE BACKGROUND OF A SEGMENTED HEMI-VERTENE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B17/70

Abstract RU 2796440 C1

FIELD: medicine; spinal surgery.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to restore balance in the cervical spine in the presence of a segmented hemivertebra. Anterior parasagittal access to the operated cervical spine, from the side and in the projection of the segmented hemivertebra is performed. A subtotal resection of the body of the hemivertebra is performed to the base of the transverse process, without affecting the transverse process with the vertebral artery passing through it. A bed under the implant is formed. The Y-shaped interbody disk is removed up to the end plates. The end plates are treated with a rasp to bloody dew, preserving their cortical layer. The size of the implant is selected, the deformity of the cervical region is corrected. To do this, under x-ray control distraction on the concave side of the deformity is performed, and the longitudinal axis of the cervical spine in the sagittal and frontal planes is corrected. The achieved position of the cervical spine is fixed by placing the anterior interbody cage in the bed and fixing it in the vertebral bodies.

EFFECT: method provides restoration of local balance in the cervical spine in the frontal and sagittal planes, from one anterior approach with minimal instrumentation, reduces the risk of neurological and vascular complications and blood loss due to the preservation of the transverse process of the hemivertebra with the vertebral artery passing through it.
