FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to neurosurgery, traumatology and orthopaedics. Method involves additional diagnostics and monitoring accompanying the median nerve endoscopic decompression within a carpal canal. It is performed intraoperatively by supplying a light beam from an endoscope, and the successful dissection of the transverse ligament of the hand is indicated by the disappearance of the shadow of the given structure. Given method is implemented by means of an endoscope with a connected light unit.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method for endoscopic decompression of carpal canal using diaphanoscopy.
