FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to medicine, namely to hepatology. It can be applied for prediction of hepatic encephalopathy progression probability in patient after 6 months of follow-up. Forecasting is carried out on the basis of observation of patients and determination of patient's age, presence of constant, cyclic or therapy "on demand", determination of points according to Child-Pugh scale in 3 months after visit of patient. Besides, oesophageal varicose veins are detected by endovideogastroduodenoscopy. Then probability of hepatic encephalopathy progression is calculated by declared mathematical formula. If value is 24% or more, a high probability of progression is predicted, and the value less than 24% enables predicting a low probability of progression.
EFFECT: method provides higher diagnostic information value.
