METHOD FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF OLD SUBRETINAL HAEMORRHAGE IN PATIENTS WITH CATARACT Russian patent published in 2025 - IPC A61F9/07

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Subtotal vitrectomy is performed, after removal of vitreous body, retinotomy is performed above haemorrhage in lower part of retina in area of equator and removal of liquid fraction of blood and blood clot in form of old subretinal haemorrhage from under retina, for removal of which the detached retinal flap obtained after retinotomy is turned over and laid on the upper retina. Then the liquid fraction of subretinal haemorrhage is evacuated. A blood clot in the form of an old subretinal haemorrhage is moved from the subretinal space to the upper retina, and the retinal flap is returned to its initial position. Tamponade of the vitreal cavity is performed with a solution of a perfluoroorganic compound, on which a clot of subretinal haemorrhage is raised to an iris. Then it is crushed and removed. Crushing and removal of old subretinal haemorrhage is performed during cataract phacoemulsification. For this purpose, after removal of cortical masses before vitrectomy, posterior circular capsulorhexis is first performed. That is followed by a vitrectomy and after removing the liquid blood fraction from under the retina and raising the subretinal haemorrhage clot to the iris with the help of an ultrasonic phaco tip introduced into the vitreal cavity through the posterior circular capsulorhexis, blood clot is fragmented and aspirated in the form of old subretinal haemorrhage.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce time of grinding and removal of old subretinal haemorrhage.
