FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of composite chalcogenide materials and can be used to produce massive samples which are suitable for making lenses, filters and windows which are transparent in 2-15 mcm range and used in devices and optics in the infrared range. Proposed glass-ceramic of Ga-Ge-Se system has a composition, wt.%: Ga 17-19, Ge 17-19, Se 61-63, REE 0.1-4, contains 40-60 vol.% of crystalline phase, and its glass-like matrix is selectively doped with rare-earth element. to obtain such glass-ceramic, mixture containing 0.1-4 wt.% rare-earth element is fed into a quartz reactor. Then sample is placed in swinging furnace and heated to 800 °C at a rate of not more than 6 °C/min, in mode of mixing oscillation is maintained for not less than 4 hours, then cooled to 750 °C and quenched in water. Further, the obtained sample is annealed at glass-transition temperature for 30 minutes.
EFFECT: disclosed chalcogenide glass ceramic is transparent in range from 2 to 15 mcm and has improved mechanical properties compared to existing commercially available chalcogenide glass.
