FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: germanium, sulfur, iodine is loaded into the reactor, melted and quenched glass-forming melt. The iodine source is germanium iodide (IV). Intermediate alloys are obtained from the charge. The target glass-forming melt is obtained by thermal decomposition of intermediate alloys in a two-section reactor in the dynamic vacuum mode at a controlled heating rate and removal of iodide germanium (IV) from intermediate alloys upon their decomposition to achieve the desired macronutrient of the glass-forming melt.
EFFECT: decrease in the content of optically active impurities.
