SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for refining molten steel by vacuum degassing. The method includes using operating data obtained at the start and end of the oxygen purge decarburization treatment, estimating the amount of carbon removed during said treatment, in which, based on the estimated amount of carbon removed, the carbon concentration in the steel at a certain point in time when the vacuum treatment is started is determined, the boiling steel decarburization treatment is estimated using the estimated value as the carbon concentration in the molten steel at the time when the boiling steel vacuum decarburization treatment is started, the change in the carbon concentration in the molten steel during said boiling steel treatment is calculated, and in which, based on the calculated change in time, the concentration of carbon in the molten steel when performing said treatment of boiling steel, the end time of the treatment of boiling steel is determined.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to accurately estimate the carbon concentration in molten steel and to determine the end of steel refining at the appropriate time.
