FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neonatology and paediatrics, and can be used for the prediction of developing bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in premature newborns. Determining the stage of lung development using X-ray examination data using the method of computer morphometry, performing the Apgar score at 5th minute of life, determining presence or absence of intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) according to neurosonography (NSG) in first day of life, presence or absence of surfactant, oxygen partial pressure (pO2) in first hour of life, presence or absence of delayed foetal fluid resorption according to X-ray imaging in first day of life, birth weight, gestation term in weeks, K+ level in the first hour of life, PLT level in the first blood test, presence or absence of pulmonary oedema according to X-ray imaging in the first days of life, indirect bilirubin and CRP in the first biochemical blood test are determined. Derived data are used to calculate a prognostic index (PI) for the canalicular stage of lung development and for the saccular stage of lung development by preset formulas. If PI is less than 0, the absence of developing BPD is predicted, and if PI is more than 0, developing BPD is predicted.
EFFECT: method enables assessing the potential development of the bronchopulmonary pathology from the first hours of life, prescribing the adequate therapy in due time and correcting the follow-up approach by assessing the most significant indicators.
