FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, and can be used for differential diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of tongue and benign growth of tongue. Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is recovered from blood plasma. Copy number of MMP1 and MAL genes with respect to the reference gene GAPDH is determined by real-time PCR in the presence of high-specific primers on a matrix of the recovered cfDNA. Relative gene copy number (rC) is calculated, and the derived rC values are compared to a prognostic copy number interval. At values rCMMP1>5.52*10-3 and rCMAL<4.01*10-4, squamous cell tongue cancer is diagnosed. At values rCMMP1<5.05*10-3 and rCMAL>4.21*10-4, benign growth of tongue is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method provides simple, accurate and minimally invasive diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of tongue ensured by determining the copy number of MMP1 and MAL genes in blood.
