SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to anaesthesiology and resuscitation, and can be used to predict risk of 30-day mortality of patients after elective abdominal operations. A method consists in determining the preoperative values having an effect on the postoperative outcome, namely: haemoglobin level, patient's sex and age, alcohol dependence, medium or high risk of operation in accordance with table 1 "Operation injuries classification depending on localization and type", duration of voluntary threshold apnoea after deep inhalation with the help of modified Stange's test in seconds, ASA class. Forecasting is carried out according to the disclosed mathematical formula and if obtained value is > -5.671, patient is referred to high risk of 30-day mortality, and if value ≤ -5.671 – to low risk.

EFFECT: method enables individualizing the intensive therapy of the patient and applying a personalized approach to reducing the risk of the lethal outcome.
