FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to maxillofacial surgery and can be used for access to submandibular space and for facilitating manipulations when performing surgeries on submandibular salivary gland. Retractor made of stainless medical steel comprises two pivotally connected branches, a rack lock, a return spring, removable working sponges. One of the branches comprises a working surface, on top of which there is a sponge for fixing the retractor to the lower jaw. Second branch has a sponge-coated working surface for oral floor soft tissue retraction at angle of 45 degrees counter clockwise. Retractor handles are bent at angle of 90 degrees in one plane. Branches coupling hinge, when retractor is activated, is located intraorally. Length of the small branch retracting the oral soft tissues makes ½ the length of the large branch fixed on the mandible. Handles of the retractor are connected to rings. Retractor is activated by approaching the rings, and the submandibular space is visualised. After the manipulation, the retractor is removed from the oral cavity.
EFFECT: disclosed is an intraoral retractor for access to submandibular space.
