FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the technology of preparing afterburning powder catalysts used for afterburning industrial waste gases containing hydrocarbons and/or carbon monoxide at temperatures from 800 °C to 1600 °C. Disclosed is a catalyst in form of mesoporous catalytic microspheres of aluminium-manganese spinel. Microspheres are synthesized by spray pyrolysis from precursor, which is an aqueous solution of a mixture of manganese nitrate, aluminium nitrate and sodium chloride in proportions providing stable formation of hollow and mesoporous microspheres with specific surface area from 9 m2/g to 20 m2/g. Precursor contains manganese nitrate Mn(NO3)2⋅6H2O from 2.17 wt.% to 6.50 wt.%, aluminium nitrate Al(NO3)3⋅9H2O 2.83 wt.% to 8.50 wt.%, sodium chloride NaCl 0 wt.% to 5 wt.%, distilled water is the balance. Method of producing said catalyst is also disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables to obtain a catalyst in form of powder with low density, heat resistance of up to 1600 °C and specific surface area of up to 20 m2/g.
