FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method provides for steel pieces heating up to 800 - 850 C in vacuum of 10-3 - 10-5 mmHg, final heating up to gardening temperature and holding under pressure change by pumping-n argon to 10-2 mmHg and hardening in oil under pressure. Hardening is exercised under pressure of 8 - 760 mmHg. Heating from temperature of 800 - 850 C till hardening temperature is carried out under pressure of 10-2 mmHg. During hardening operation pressure is achieved by argon introduction 5 - 10 minutes before pieces dipping into oil. EFFECT: full steel hardening is achieved, increased corrosion-resistance of steel pieces surface.
