FIELD: controlled thermonuclear fusion and plasma technology. SUBSTANCE: initial azimuthal magnetic field is introduced in plasma chamber compartment filled with gas mixture; then gas is ionized, plasma obtained is accelerated by growing azimuthal magnetic field by passing it through annular converging-diverging nozzle, then plasma is dragged and heated in shock wave generated across nozzle exit due to action of magnetic field introduced into this part of chamber. Azimuthal magnetic field is raised following exponential law. Ultimate density of magnetic field at which chamber destruction occurs cuts down time taken to introduce magnetic field into chamber. Volume density of plasma thermal energy is increased due to higher energy density of magnetic field. EFFECT: improved efficiency due to increase in ultimate volume density of magnetic field energy.
