FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: synthesis is carried out by selective hydrogenation of corresponding aliphatic alcohols of fatty acid methyl esters with gaseous tritium in organic solvent, preferably in mixture heptane-dioxane 4: 1 in the presence of catalyst. Catalyst: 5% Pd/BaSO4, which is successively treated with methanolic solutions of lead diacetate at ratio lead-palladium 1: 0.5-1 mg/kg and sodium boron hydride at ratio NaBH4-catalyst 0.6: 50 mg/kg. Process is carried out at mass ratio catalyst-initial substance 2-6: 1. After isolation, if necessary, unsaturated lipids containing ester function are hydrolyzed to free acids. Yield of (5,6,8,9,11,12,14, 15-3H8)- arachidonic acid is up to 95% . Molar radioactivity is increased up to 7.4 PBq/mole.
